Fuente Fuente Opus X
I've been smoking a few Opus X lately, and I've come to the conclusion that the smaller sized cigars are much tastier. I enjoy the No. 4 and No. 5's, and also the Petite Lanceros. I think with the smaller cigars you get much more flavor from the wrapper.
I was in a cigar shop the other day that had the full line of Opus X, and it was interesting to note the color variations of the cigar wrappers. Some were very light, almost green, while others were very dark, and much more oily. A lot of the wrappers had dark splotches on them. I wonder how much wrapper leaf is grown on the Fuente farm vs how much they use. I imagine they limit the production of their cigars to keep interest in them and to keep the prices up.
It amazes me that some cigar shop owners jack-up the price on these cigars. They are good, but I don't think they warrant some of the asking prices. Maybe I should reconsider my choice of career and open a cigar shop? (just kidding).
